Marlon is an original member of the legandary Jackson 5 and later The Jacksons. He was more a dancer than a singer and never received the chance to sing a lot of lead vocals for the group. Though he received some credits for co-writing on a couple of Jacksons songs like 'Destiny' or 'Do You Wanna'.
He received credits for co-writing and producing 2 of sister Janets songs on 'Dream Street', called 'Don't Stand Another Chance' and 'All My Love To You'. Marlon also produced Betty Wrights 'Right Back At 'Cha'.
In 1987 he released his only solo album called 'Baby Tonight' on Capitol Records, that was mainly written and produced by Marlon himself. Plus most of the instruments on the album was played by Marlon.
Because of his solo record deal, Marlon wasn't able to be a part of the 1989 Jacksons project '2300 Jackson Street'. But he'll sing with his brothers together again on the J5's forthcomming reunion album.
